Three Tips for Keeping Your Feet Happy and Healthy

Foot health is important, especially if you spend a lot of time on them. People who have jobs that keep them on their feet most of the day tend to have more foot pain and other foot issues than other people. On top of that, certain medical conditions can also cause some major foot issues for sufferers.

It’s important to pay attention to your feet, and the pains they may have. It’s also important to take care of them in any way that you can. Your feet get you around, and if something bad happens it can really change your life. Why risk it when you can easily care for your feet and keep them healthy and happy.
General Foot Health
Your feet get a lot of use, even if you work from home or you are a stay-at-home parent. If you have health issues, like diabetes, even the smallest foot issue could be a sign of something more important. If you are feeling numbness in your feet it could be a sign of problems, and people with diabetes may not feel cuts on their feet which can lead to infections and the need for amputation.

Plantar fasciitis, which is an inflammation in your foot, can cause a lot of pain too. If you have foot pains or sores on your feet you should make an appointment to see your doctor. If you are just having pain because of walking or standing too much each day there may be some other healing methods you can use.

Soothing Tired Feet

A few ways to soothe your tired feet include putting them up, soaking them, or getting a foot massage. When you get home after a long day on your feet you can get some relief simply by taking your shoes off and putting your feet up and relaxing. If that’s not enough, try a soothing soak or rub.

Put some epsom salts and some lavender oil (the scent is relaxing) in a foot bath, or a small tub that can be used as a foot bath, and soak your feet for 10 or 15 minutes. You can also go and get a foot massage (pretty much anywhere that does pedicures), if you don’t have a significant other to do it for you.
Dry and Cracked Feet
Sore feet isn’t always just about aches and pains, you could also be suffering from dry or cracked feet. That foot bath can still be fairly helpful, but you’ll want to put some lotion on them afterward. A massage or pedicure can also be helpful, since they use oils and lotions that can help relieve the dryness.

Don’t ignore foot pain, and don’t settle thinking that your feet can’t be pain free. Love your feet and they will be healthier for much longer.
