Popularity of eBay

Many people are still very cautious about purchasing items on the Internet, and many of them even decided not to shop online at all. However, this does not describe accurately the majority of Internet users. Most of them have been using eBay for many few years, and have never been scammed. I know that there are some auction sites on the Internet where a person can possibly get cheated; however, it is safe to say that eBay is a safe place to shop online. One of the reasons is that each seller has an online reputation and feedback. If a seller scams anyone, then he is going to receive a negative feedback. This in turn will mean that buyers will lose interest in his products. EBay does not give a second chance to anyone, and if a person is once banned it means that is he banned forever. EBay has even the right to freeze a sellers PayPal account if it suspects any fraudulent activities. Each PayPal account needs verification, and there are steps take to prevent a person from creating multiple accounts using different names. Actually, the problem with PayPal is that very often sellers are not treated very well, as PayPal often assumes that the customer is almost always right.

Determination

There are millions of blogs out there, so the competition is very steep. In order to have a lot of visitors you need to have a valuable blog. In my opinion, a valuable blog is a blog that has high quality posts, and to have high quality posts, you have to be determined to write such posts. It might sound obvious, but there is a big difference when it comes to intentions and determination behind writing posts. For example, some people are only writing posts out of boredom, only for the sake of money, or because they promised their friends or families. Of course, their blog might be high quality, but it will not last long without the proper motivation behind writing posts. I encourage all of you to consider once again what your motives behind your blog are. Over time such an approach might improve the overall quality of your posts.

Anyway, the question what makes a high quality content has been asked many times in the blogosphere. While there are many answers to this question, there is a rule that I think is quite logical. Quality is often comparatively determined. This is true in any niche where there is competition. There will be always someone who has the highest quality content, and someone with the lowest quality content, simply because you can compare their blogs as they are in the same niche. I will not discuss any specific ways to judge which content is of higher quality, but you need to remember that you are competing with other blogs, and even other types of websites with similar topic to yours. You should also be aware that the standards of writing might be completely different, depending on a particular niche.

Posting on a Daily Basis

Adding new content to your blog is important. However, there are some bloggers who say that you do not need to update your blog very often. Here are the arguments:

-Your best posts will get buried. If you post many posts per day, then your visitors might have a problem finding the most useful posts. This would not happen if you would not post that often.
-It will be harder for Google to index your blog. It takes some time for Google to index all of the pages, and if you are not going to post for some time, then at least most of your pages will get indexed. This way your blog will get indexed deeply.
-If you do not have any good ideas for posts, it might be better to refrain from posting for some time. In the meantime, look for post ideas by visiting other blogs, or by reading magazines.

I am not saying that I agree with everything what has been stated here, but nonetheless, these arguments are worth considering. However, take into account that most readers prefer to visit a blog that is updated on a regular basis. That is because visiting a blog that does not have any new posts published might be a waste of time.

Sites Linking Here

If you are interested in link exchanges with other blogs that deal with the similar topic to yours, you can check who already linked to your blog and return the favor. If you are hosted on Blogger this can be done through a widget obtained from wholinked.com. This widget was quite popular a year or two ago. There are many benefits of having this widget including increasing your popularity and encouraging other webmasters to link to your site. The widget does not display all of the sites linking to a particular site, rather just a few blogs. This was done on purpose to avoid unnecessary clutter. If you are interested in putting a similar widget on your blog, you can visit the site I mentioned or find other similar widgets.

Collaborate With Others

Would you like to collaborate with other bloggers? Grou.ps is a service that promises to deliver all of the collaboration tools you may need, in one place. You can run of the tools just by using a single login, instead of going to different websites to use a specific collaboration tool. Grou.ps supports wikis, photos, links, blogs, calendars, chat, forums, maps, profiles, and subgroups. I have to admit that it is a quite long list. They also allow modules by which users can pull in their data from other third party services such as Flickr, Digg, or even blogs. Let us hope that there will be more sites like this coming out in the future, as they can be quite useful in many circumstances.

Translation Widget

For a long time, I was looking for a translation widget for my blog that is hosted on blogspot, but I did not want it to take too much valuable space. I found some working widgets, but they were definitely taking too much space on my sidebar. After learning how some other widgets work, finally I decided to create my own, which would take advantage out of Google Translate. To translate the whole webpage you simply have to click on the flag icon corresponding to the appropriate language. It is as simple as that. There are a few arguments for embedding a translation widget:

• It is a good way to make reading easier for existing readers for whom English is not a first language.
• It is a good way to attract new readers from non-English speaking countries.
• It makes your blog look more sophisticated.
• It shows openness to other cultures and ideas.
• Adding a small widget will not take too much valuable space on your sidebar.

To add this widget to your website, you simply have to copy the widget code (earnmoneyblog.googlepages.com/widgetcode.txt) and paste it in the desired place on your website/blog. If you have any questions or problems with the code, let me know.

Internet Access on Planes

Traveling is usually quite fun, but flights are sometimes very long and there are few things to do on a long flight. Since the Internet is becoming so popular, and a lot of us use it on a daily basis, it is a logical step to allow passengers to use the Internet on flights. That is why airlines are competing with each other to offer the best possible Internet access on their flights. How important it is for you to have Internet access wherever you go? I use the Internet on a daily basis, and I have no reason not to use it on a long flight. After all, the Internet is the best source of information out there, so having access to it at all times is very important.

The Internet During Crisis

Did you know that during Hurricane Katrina the Internet was the only means of communication that was still to some degree operational. Internet access was possible even though a hurricane hit New Orleans. Everything else stopped working including phones. The reason why the Internet was still working in some locations is that you cannot simply switch the Internet off. There is no central point; instead, the Internet makes use of various technologies including cable TV, wireless modems, satellites, WiFi, and G connections. As you can see, because there are so many ways to connect to the Internet, it may be possible to have Internet connectivity in some areas even if a disaster happens.

The Value of Your Blog

I found an interesting online tool the other day. By using it, you can check how much your blog is worth. It might be a good idea to check the progress of your blog. If you are curious what the value of your blog is then simply visit business-opportunities.biz/projects/how-much-is-your-blog-worth/, and enter the URL of your site. What you should keep in mind that this tool is only for fun, and it will probably not give you accurate information about the real value of your blog. The way it works is that it checks how many Technorati links are pointing to your site, and then calculates the value of your blog based on the number of links.

Comfortable Furniture

Everyone likes to have comfortable and stylish furniture in his home. Furniture is something that defines us and tells the others who we really are. When it comes to choosing the right furniture for your home, the possibilities are here endless. You will see how many choices you have when you start shopping. Whether you are looking for American furniture, European furniture, furniture for your children, or office furniture if you are working from home, you will have a large choice. If you value your comfort at home, then I suggest you take some time finding the best furniture for yourself so that you will be happy with your choice.

Online Games

Online games are a relatively new type of games that are gaining on popularity throughout the world. More and more people, not only children, play online games and there are millions of players right now. Approximately ten years ago online games were still almost unheard of. Very few people played them at that time. But with the bigger and bigger availability of the Internet, anyone can play online games, from almost every corner of the world including Brazil, China, Japan, and India. It looks that online games are everywhere. I welcome this interesting phenomena, and I am very glad that it is happening on my own eyes. If you are wondering what people were doing before online games were invented, we have to assume that they were either playing single player games, or even playing traditional games like chess. The reason why I am saying this is that online games attract those who like to play games in front of their computer, but also those who like to socialize with others. Some multiplayer games do not even try to add a lot of content, but they rather try to make user interactions as often as possible. According to players, an online world gives a lot of possibilities, and this is mostly due to player interactions.
